HISTORY OF THE AWARDS

IDG has created the first edition of the ComputerWorld & CIO.

IDG Communications, the largest publishing group's IT world (more than 50 years and disseminating information to an audience of more than 280 million readers, IDG is present in 97 countries), IDG Communications is inspired by the success of the prestigious Awards ComputerWorld Honors, created in 1988 for the coming-out of the first edition of the awards & CIO Computerworld.

In Latin America, IDG has direct presence through subsidiaries in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, México, Nicaragua, Panamá, Perú, Dominican Republic and Venezuela. In the Iberian Peninsula IDG is present in Spain and Portugal.

The large cultural Union ties and common economic interests between iberoamerican countries make IDG consider creating these International important prizes. The Iberoamerican ComputerWorld & CIO awards, are an excellent platform of communication for large Spanish and international companies with interests in Latin America.
